Adam Driver Crashlands on Prehistoric Earth in ’65’ Trailer
It’s Adam Driver versus dinosaurs in the unexpected trailer for 65, a sci-fi feature from the creators of A Quiet Place coming to theaters next March.
Even though Deadline had told us about it, we collectively forgot about the existence of a new sci-fi thriller — starring Adam Driver — from the writers behind the original A Quiet Place. To be fair, it’s taken a while to show up after extensive reshoots that seemingly flew under most radars. So now we find ourselves wowed by a surprising little sci-fi monster feature that happens to take place on… prehistoric Earth 65 million years ago. Now that’s a good pitch.
Without further ado, watch the film’s first trailer here:
From Sony Pictures’ official press release:
After a catastrophic crash on an unknown planet, pilot Mills (Adam Driver) quickly discovers he’s actually stranded on Earth… 65 million years ago. Now, with only one chance at rescue, Mills and the only other survivor, Koa (Ariana Greenblatt), must make their way across an unknown terrain riddled with dangerous prehistoric creatures in an epic fight to survive. From the writers of A Quiet Place and producer Sam Raimi comes 65, a sci-fi thriller starring Adam Driver, Ariana Greenblatt, and Chloe Coleman. Written, directed, and produced by Scott Beck & Bryan Woods – the film is also produced by Sam Raimi, Deborah Liebling and Zainab Azizi.
Plot specifics are unknown (and probably for good reason), but we’re looking at a story which kicks off in a similar way to the original Planet of the Apes, which had a crew of astronauts crashlanding on future Earth. And that brings up the question of whether these two characters are actually 65 million years in the past or there’s a second twist brewing in the background… Regardless, it’s looking like an exciting trip to the movies to kick off the spring season.
Sony Pictures also shared a simple yet effective poster to accompany the trailer. Check it out below:
65 roars exclusively in movie theaters on March 10. Later next year, Adam Driver will be seen again in Michael Mann’s Ferrari and (hopefully) Francis Ford Coppola’s long-awaited Megalopolis.
