Sylvester Stallone will not be reprising the role of Rocky Balboa in the new installment, which will see the return of Tessa Thompson as Creed’s girlfriend Bianca. In a press conference that The Wrap attended, Jordan explained his decision to direct the movie as follows:
“At 35-years-old, I had a lot to say as a young Black man. It was the right time.
I’ve been watching, putting together decks and folders over time,” Jordan said. “Everything was lining up perfectly for this opportunity.”
He added that directing scenes in which he also acted was “low-key torture” but ultimately “fun” — it was the multitasking nature of the job that called him to it. He also referred to Majors’ character as the “antagonist” of the film, and not the villain, adding “We’re very lucky and blessed to have him.”
Creed III will debut in theaters on March 3, 2023.

Miguel Fernández is a Spanish student that has movies as his second passion in life. His favorite movie of all time is The Lord of the Rings, but he is also a huge Star Wars fan. However, fantasy movies are not his only cup of tea, as authors like Scorsese, Fincher, Kubrick or Hitchcock have been an obsession for him since he started to understand the language of filmmaking. He is that guy who will watch a black and white movie, just because it is in black and white.
