’Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’ Title and Trailer Revealed

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny teaser trailer

Today, during Disney’s panel at Comic-Con Experience Brazil (CCXP), the company finally revealed the title and the first official trailer for the upcoming fifth Indiana Jones installment: Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

Check out the long-anticipated trailer here:

From Disney and Lucasfilm’s press release:

Harrison Ford returns as the legendary hero archaeologist in the highly anticipated fifth installment of the iconic “Indiana Jones” franchise, which is directed by James Mangold (“Ford v Ferrari,” “Logan”). Starring along with Ford are Phoebe Waller-Bridge (“Fleabag”), Antonio Banderas (“Pain and Glory”), John Rhys-Davies (“Raiders of the Lost Ark”), Shaunette Renee Wilson (“Black Panther”), Thomas Kretschmann (“Das Boot”), Toby Jones (“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”), Boyd Holbrook (“Logan”), Oliver Richters (“Black Widow”), Ethann Isidore (“Mortel”) and Mads Mikkelsen (“Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore”). Directed by James Mangold, the film is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel, with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas serving as executive producers. John Williams, who has scored each Indy adventure since the original “Raiders of the Lost Ark” in 1981, is once again composing the score.

James Mangold is taking over from Steven Spielberg as director on the latest installment, which will also be Harrison Ford’s last outing in the iconic adventurer role. The cast includes Phoebe Waller-Bridge as Indy’s goddaughter Helena, Mads Mikkelsen as the main villain Voller, Boyd Holbrook as another antagonist and Voller’s second-in-command, Klaber, Shaunette Reneé Wilson, Antonio Banderas, and Toby Jones, among others.

There’s also been talk of a potential Indiana Jones spinoff or prequel series for Disney Plus recently, which isn’t surprising when we look at the success Marvel and Star Wars are enjoying on the platform. No matter what the post-Dial future of the saga looks like, it appears more stories set in the past of the franchise are on the table, with or without the titular character.

The film will be released in theaters on June 30, 2023.
