’John Wick: Chapter 4′ First Trailer Goes to Japan and France
It’s nice to have you back, John. After the longest of waits since a closed-doors preview this spring, Lionsgate has finally unleashed the first action-packed trailer for John Wick: Chapter 4, arriving on March 24, 2023.
As teased earlier this week, the long-anticipated John Wick: Chapter 4 trailer has broken into our homes and filled our screens with lead. John’s fight against the world’s entire criminal underworld isn’t slowing down anytime soon, and this first preview goes all out with the action and stylish shots. Watch it below:
The official synopsis reads as follows:
John Wick (Keanu Reeves) uncovers a path to defeating the High Table. But before he can earn his freedom, Wick must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe and forces that turn old friends into foes.
For the fourth John Wick film, which will lead right into the fifth and (planned) final chapter of the main saga, Keanu Reeves has been joined by Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson, Rina Sawayama, Scott Adkins, Clancy Brown, and Natalia Tena, among others. Returning cast members include Laurence Fishburne, Lance Reddick, and Ian McShane.
Chad Stahelski once again directs, with a script by Michael Finch (American Assassin) and Shay Hatten (Army of the Dead). John Wick creator — and incredibly busy scribe — Derek Kolstad hasn’t been involved with the scripts for the fourth and fifth installments. Up next for Stahelski after the final two John Wick films are way too many projects to list here, but an adaptation of the famous PlayStation video game Ghost of Tsushima seems to be picking up momentum.
We can also expect to finally see the prequel series The Continental at some point in 2023, with a Prime Video release now confirmed for international territories. Meanwhile, the spinoff film Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas, has just started shooting and recruited Keanu Reeves as well as Ian McShane in supporting roles.
